From Transcription Factors to Line Attractors: Celebrating 40 years of the Anderson Lab at Caltech

To honor David Anderson's 40 years at Caltech and his 70th Birthday, we are hosting a science symposium at Caltech. There will be plenty of time to socialize and reminisce about days in the Anderson lab.

This chapter was written in response to an invitation to contribute to an annual volume (#14) on the History of Neuroscience that is jointly published by the NAS and SfN, and which will appear this summer.

Friday, April 17th, 2026

8:30AM-5:30PM: Scientific Symposium featuring trainees and collaborators from across decades of the Anderson lab (open to all). Agenda here.

6:00PM: Dinner for lab alumni (this is an invitation only event)

Saturday, April 18th, 2026

8:30AM: Meet at Griffith Park to hike for those who are sticking around! We will do a short and easy 2.5 mile roundtrip out and back hike starting at the Merry Go Round Lot (4668 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027) up to 5 points and back. 

10:00AM: Bagel Breakfast Picnic at Griffith Park (same as start point) after the hike (or for those skipping the hike feel free to meet for breakfast!).
